This is an original vintage black-and-white silver gelatin photograph documenting the conclusion of 1948 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. The image depicts tournament winner Claude Harmon on the left and runner-up Cary Middlecoff on the right as they share a handshake on the green. Middlecoff is shown holding two golf balls in his left hand. A large gallery of spectators is visible in the background. The reverse of the photo features a blue rectangular ink stamp that reads: PHOTO BY MORGAN FITZ HERALD BLDG. AUGUSTA, GA. Portions of the stamp are obscured by ink marks. The reverse also contains handwritten identification in blue ink that reads: Claude Harmon & Cary Middlecoff / 1948 Masters / 1st & 2nd. Claude Harmon won the 1948 Masters with a score of 279, finishing five strokes ahead of Middlecoff. 9 3/4"X 8 1/4'
