1950 North Fulton Open 2nd Amateur Trophy - Frank Stranahan
For the second week in a row Jimmy Demeret dominated in Georgia. Fresh off his victory in Augusta, Ga at the 1950 Masters the week before, Demeret won the following week at the PGA event known as the North Fulton Open contested at North Fulton Golf Course just outside Atlanta, Ga. After an opening round of 70, which placed him one stroke off the lead, Frank Stranahan could not make a run at Demeret's victorious score. He did however place second among amateur contestants entered in the event. For this finish at North Fulton Stranahan received this trophy which is engraved:
