1959 US Amateur at The Broadmoor Golf Club Championship Official Program - Jack's 1st Major Win
Official program was produced for the 59th Amateur Championship of the United States Golf Association (USGA), held at The Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from September 14 through 19, 1959. The front cover features a watercolor-style illustration by artist Tom Phillips depicting the Broadmoor clubhouse and golf course. The publication contains 120 pages of content including a welcome from Colorado Governor Steve McNichols, a greeting from President Dwight D. Eisenhower on White House stationery, historical photographs of the original Broadmoor Casino, and a comprehensive table of contents. The back cover features a vintage color advertisement for Izod Lacoste polo shirts. This tournament is historically significant as it marked the first major USGA victory for Jack Nicklaus.
