Masters paper series ticket(badge)#1317 is offered in this lot. Imagine back to 1960 and the good time the holder of this pass of admittance must have had. This series ticket stamped "Complimentary" ticket gave the holder the right to attend all four rounds of the 1960 tournament. This was the last year of paper tickets at Augusta National before they would switch to the familar plastic badges for the 1961 Masters. Example retains original string for attachment to patron, and is in vg-ex condition free from significant creasing. In those days the Masters would use a hole punch at the gate to designate days of attendance, the one punch on this example is a sign that one day of use occured. Writing appears on both front and reverse of this ticket most likely patrons names using the badge. Back to the fun a patron could have at the 1960 event. It was the height of Arnie's Army, with his legions of fans bringing vocal rooting to the course and taking golf into a new era as a spectaor sport viewed by the masses both at the course and also at home on their new black and white televisions. Arnie's swagger captivated the patrons, and his game tamed the Augusta National producing his second of four Masters championships inn 1960.
