1963 PGA Ryder Cup Team Bullion Blazer Patch
This is a team-issued shield-shaped blazer patch or crest from the 1963 Ryder Cup. The patch is constructed on a gold-tone metallic woven textile ground with a heavy, twisted gold-tone bullion wire border. The top section features the letters PGA embroidered in blue, flanked by two black five-pointed stars. A horizontal gold-tone bullion wire divider separates the top from the lower sections. The year 1963 is embroidered in red above the words RYDER CUP, which are executed in raised gold-tone bullion wire. Below this, the word TEAM is embroidered in red, with a single black five-pointed star at the bottom point of the shield. The reverse is finished with a black fabric backing and features a stamped marking in silver-white ink reading 09 - TL. This item is an authentic period piece associated with the 15th Ryder Cup, held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, where the United States team was captained by Arnold Palmer.
