The dinner was in honor of the record-breaking American team concluding a tournament that saw the U.S. defend home soil and win by the record score of 23 1/2 to 8 1/2 points. Golf luminaries attending this post-matches dinner and mentioned in this menu from the United States team under Ben Hogan's tutelage were the US Captain himself, as well as Arnold Palmer, Julius Boros, Billy Casper, Gene Littler, Gay Brewer, Al Geiberger, Bobby Nichols, Johnny Pott, Gardner Dickinson and Doug Sanders. Inside the menu, it lists honorary members of the dinner and honors the 40th Anniversary of the 1927 American winning team.
