1968 U.S. Women's Open Championship Contestant Badge
Participant’s badge from the 1968 United States Women's Open Championship, manufactured by The Robbins Co. of Attleboro, Massachusetts. The badge is constructed from bronze-tone metal with green enamel inlay. The circular upper section features raised-letter ring inscribed UNITED STATES GOLF ASSOCIATION. This is bordered by a green enamel ring with the words WOMEN'S OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP in raised lettering. Below the crest is a horizontal bar bearing the year 1968. The base of the badge consists of a rectangular metal frame with a side opening designed to hold a slide-in identification nameplate. The reverse side is stamped with the maker's mark THE ROBBINS CO. ATTLEBORO, MASS. and features a horizontal pin and safety clasp mechanism. The 1968 U.S. Women's Open was held at Moselem Springs Golf Club and won by Susie Maxwell Berning.
