1971 Walker Cup Guest Ticket & R & A Tent Ticket
At the Home of Golf, captains Michael Bonallack for Great Britain and Ireland and John M. Winters for The United States squared off at 1971 The Walker Cup. Here is a pair of ducats that remain in good condition from that tight battle in which World Golf Hall of Famer Bonallack edged out Winters 13-11. The print is vibrant and the United States Team featured a young, promising player named Jerry Lanston Wadkins Jr who went by Lanny. Lanny would go on to become a major champion and a household name six years later at the 1977 PGA Championship at Pebble Beach. Add these tickets gaining entry at St Andrews Old Course over 50 years ago.
