After holding the 54 hole lead, Tom Watson shot a 73 on Sunday to open the door for the other competitors. Jerry Pate had his chance on the final day, lipping out a 4 ft putt for par on the 72nd hole. The 60th PGA Championship at Oakmont Country Club saw John Mahaffey win his only major championship in a sudden-death playoff over Pate and Watson. Offered here is a contestant family badge from that tournament in great condition with the pin intact.
