1984 MONY Tournament of Champions Fred Couples Caddy Jacket
Worn by Fred Couples' caddy for the 1984 Tournament Of Champions is this red windbreaker. Straying away from the traditional caddie bib, a colorful windbreaker was commonplace in the 1970's and 80's. The then season opening tournament on the PGA Tour schedule was held at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California from 1969 until 1999. Its now played in the first week of January under the Sentry title sponsor at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii. 15-time PGA Tour winner Fred Couples was inducted into the 2013 World Golf Hall of Fame and attends the annual Masters Tournament Champions Dinner, winner in 1992. This official used 1984 TOC Curtis Strange caddie "bib" exhibits some welcomed usage with 'COUPLES' in white lettering across the back.
