1985 Miller Press & 1982 Donruss Golf Trading Cards Including Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros & Fred Couples
Here is a large grouping of the 1985 Miller Press and 1982 Donruss golf card sets including the desirable Miller Press hobby entrants from '85 of Jack NIcklaus, Seve Ballesteros and Fred Couples. The cards are housed in clear plastic binder sheets and represent multiple sets, including the 1981, 1982, and 1985 series. Prominent golfers featured in the collection include Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Fred Couples, Payne Stewart, Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, Nick Faldo, Curtis Strange, and Ben Crenshaw.
Each card features a full-color photograph of the player on the obverse with their name printed in a red banner at the bottom. The reverse of each card contains a navy blue and red layout with a printed PGA Tour logo. The logo depicts a white silhouette of a golfer against a blue background with the vertical text PGA TOUR in red and white. The card backs include biographical data such as birth date and height, career highlights, and a statistical section titled at a glance, detailing driving, putting, and scoring averages.
A 1982 Donruss Jack Nicklaus card (number 16) is present, showing the golfer putting in plaid trousers. The reverse details his 1981 statistics and notes his status as the leading money winner in tour history at the time. A 1985 Donruss Seve Ballesteros card (number 1) is included, depicting the player in a striped Lacoste polo shirt. The collection also features a 1985 Donruss Fred Couples card (number 38), which serves as an early career card, noting his 1984 win at the Tournament Players Championship.
