1988 PGA Club Professional Championship Gold-Plated PING Zing Victory Putter For Robert Boyd's Win
A gold-plated PING Zing putter manufactured by Karsten Manufacturing Corporation to commemorate Robert Boyd's victory in the 1988 P.G.A. Club Professional Championship. The club head features a gold-tone finish and is mounted on a tapered steel shaft. The sole of the putter is engraved with the text ROBERT BOYD, P.G.A. CLUB PROFESSIONAL, and CHAMPION 1988. The back cavity of the head contains embossed text reading MADE IN U.S.A., U.S. PAT. NO. 231375 D, KARSTEN MFG. CORP., and PHOENIX, AZ. 85020. The heel is marked PING and the toe is marked ZING. The club is fitted with a black rubber PING grip featuring a white stylized golfer logo and the PING brand name. This item represents the tradition established by PING founder Karsten Solheim of gifting gold-plated putters to professionals who won tournaments using a PING putter.
