1988 Ping Invitational Champion Gold-Plated Ping Anser 2 Winner's Putter
This commemorative gold-plated golf putter was manufactured by Ping (Karsten Manufacturing Corp.) to honor the winner of the 1988 Ping Invitational. The putter head is an Anser 2 model, featuring a heel-and-toe weighted blade design with a plumbers-neck hosel. It is equipped with a stepped chrome-plated steel shaft and an original black rubber Ping grip that displays the Ping Man logo and the brand name oriented vertically. The head is finished in a high-luster gold plating. The sole features an engraved Ping Man logo on the heel side and center-aligned text reading PING INVITATIONAL CHAMPION 1988, followed by PING on the toe side. The top rail of the back cavity is stamped MADE IN USA. The interior of the cavity is stamped with U.S. PAT. PEND., KARSTEN MFG. CORP., BOX 9990 PHOENIX ARIZONA, and the zip code 85068. The heel bumper is stamped PING and the toe bumper is stamped ANSER 2. This item is a product of Ping's historic Gold Putter Vault program, which commemorates professional tournament victories by creating two gold-plated replicas of the winning putter model. 35"
