1995 Ryder Cup at Oak Hill Team USA & Captain Signed Ltd Ed Full Size Golf Bag #755/1000
Silver penmanship of the complete star-studded Team USA roster is carefully positioned below the embroidered stars and stripes on the frontside pocket of this limited edition full size 1995 Ryder Cup bag. Rookie Phil Mickelson was taken under the wing of captain Lanny Wadkins and his fellow patriots Fred Couples, Ben Crenshaw, Curtis Strange, Corey Pavin, Davis Love III, Tom Lehman, Jeff Maggert, Jay Haas, Loren Roberts, Brad Faxon and Peter Jacobsen. The international matches were held at the Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York, and it saw The European team win the competition by a slim margin of 14½ to 13½ points to win back the Cup after two straight US Team victories. The red, white and blue theme is evident throughout the bag's design, with the large pocket adorned by an American flag front and center, with the black marker signature of Captain Lanny Wadkins directly above it. "1995 Captain Lanny Wadkins" is notated on the white side panel. The golf bag is in excellent condition, highlighted by the equally impressive condition of each signature.

Sourced from The Doug Sanders Museum Collection is this Complete 1995 USA Ryder Cup Team & Captain Signed Ltd Ed Ryder Cup at Oak Hill Full Size Golf Bag JSA ALOA, originally obtained through Sanders' connections and celebrity status as a staple in golf for over two decades. The 20-time PGA Tour winner Doug Sanders was picked as a member of the 1967 Ryder Cup Team and obtained the nickname "The Peacock of the Fairways" with his colorful wardrobe. With friends in high places, a typical pro-am tournament field Sanders took part in might have consisted of names such as George H.W. Bush, Neil Armstrong and Willie Nelson. A large number of items that Doug collected over his playing career and thereafter are on display at The Doug Sanders Museum. Sharing in the joy of collecting, the generated funds from this sale will help benefit the Doug Sanders Museum. A signed letter of provenance from the museum will accompany this item. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
