1999 U.S. Open Pinehurst No. 2 Commemorative Porcelain Plate by Merry Scotland Designs
Plate was produced for the 1999 U.S. Open golf tournament held at Pinehurst No. 2. The piece was manufactured by Merry Scotland Designs in the United States. The obverse features a wide navy blue border with gold-tone lettering reading 1999 UNITED STATES OPEN and PINEHURST NO. 2, separated by circular dots. The outer edge is finished with a gold-tone scrollwork filigree rim. The central field contains a color illustration of the United States Open Championship Trophy situated on a golf course with golfers and a caddy visible in the background. The reverse of the plate features an oval logo at the top for the 1999 U.S. OPEN at PINEHURST NO. 2, depicting the putter boy. Below this is the maker's mark for Merry Scotland Designs, featuring a horse and two golden retrievers. The back is also marked Made in the USA and signed Merry Scotland.
