62nd USGA National Open - Oakmont, PA Pennant. 30" x 11 1/2". Pennant from 62nd USGA National Open from Oakmont. One of the more difficult to find mementos of the 1962 U.S. Open and Jack Nicklaus' first P.G.A. tour victory is the Oakmont Open pennant. This pennant with distinctive sixties graphics has a body in purple felt which features white lettering reversing out of the white background. Pennant is 11x30, slight damage to point, with no holes, some very minor stitching missing from yellow portion. Tassels are intact. The left side contains a period appropriate golfer which carries the text 'JUNE 11 THRU 16TH'. In similar fashion on the right side of the pennant is the text '62ND USGA NATIONAL OPEN OAKMONT, PA'. Combine a seldom seen item in the pennant collecting world with Jack Nicklaus' first career win at the U.S. Open none-the-less and you have a very desired item.
In order to bid in extended bidding you must place a bid on the lot before 9pm on auction closing day.
