Proudly presented here is an exquisite offering from the golf architecture and publication categories - A.W. Tillinghast Signed 1925 'The Mutt - And Other Golf Yarns' 1st ed. book. Gilt-lettered red cloth contains the writings of Tillinghast. From Baltusrol and Winged Foot Golf Club to Newport Country Club, fabled course architect A.W. Tillinghast in 2015 became the 6th golf course architect in history to be inducted into the Golf Course Hall of Fame in the Life Time Achievement category. 'The Mutt - & Other Golf Yarns' remains a staple book on the top of golf’s want list, many not even considering the possibility of a signed 1st Ed. such as that showcased here.
The front free endpaper features an autograph presentation inscription boldly penned in blue fountain pen ink: "Mr. George A. Uebe, / Compliments of / A. W. Tillinghast / Lake / Valhalla / Oct 9 - 1929". Light pencil notations reading "INSCRIBED COPY" appear at the upper right corner and "400" near the inner lower margin of the front free endpaper.
