A Collection of Golf Reference and Literature including Nick Price Signed 1994 PGA Media Guide (DJ)
An assortment of golf-themed books and media guides encompassing instructional texts, tour histories, and biographical works. A primary highlight of the collection is the 1994 PGA Tour Official Media Guide, a softcover publication featuring a black ink signature on the front cover across the image of the golfer. The signature is written in a cursive script and is legible as Nicklaus. The lot also includes the 2011 PGA Media Guide, celebrating 95 years, with a pictorial wrap featuring Jim Barnes.
Hardcover volumes with dust jackets include The U.S. Open: Golf’s Ultimate Challenge by Robert Sommers (Oxford University Press, Second Edition, 1996); A Good Walk Spoiled: Days and Nights on the PGA Tour by John Feinstein (Little, Brown and Company, 1995); and Golf Anecdotes by Robert Sommers (Oxford University Press, 1995) featuring a color caricature illustration on the jacket. Other hardcover titles include St. Andrew’s Night and Other Golfing Stories by John Behrend (Grant Books, 2006) in blue cloth with a pictorial inlay; Caddies by G. Gunby Jordan with Don Wade (1991); and John Daly: Wild Thing by William Wartman (1992).
Softcover and pictorial board highlights include Tiger Woods: Heart of a Champion (Triumph Books, 1997); Jack Nicklaus’ Lesson Tee (Fireside, 1977); 101 Super Shots by Chi Chi Rodriguez with John Andrisani (Harper & Row, 1990); and Golfer’s Digest Deluxe Fifth Edition (1971). The collection is rounded out by a dark blue faux-leather bound journal for the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, featuring a debossed logo on the front cover and the manufacturer name CASTELLI MADE IN ITALY debossed on the lower rear cover.
