A Collection of Original Production Drawings and Clippings for Golf Facts Not Theories by Alex Morrison
A collection of original production art and associated newspaper clippings for the syndicated instructional comic strip series Golf Facts Not Theories by Alex Morrison. The set includes three original drawings executed in pen and black ink on off-white wove paper. One drawing depicts a golfer standing at a signpost pointing toward the Practice Tee and First Tee with the text Ounce of Prevention Valuable in Golf and is inscribed 870 at the lower left and center. A second drawing shows a golfer in a trench coat carrying clubs and a suitcase with the caption Traveling Pros Should Have Expenses Guaranteed and is inscribed 752 at the top center and lower left. The third drawing is a technical diagram titled How to Practice Wrist Action, inscribed TO-DAY and 692 at the top and 692 at the lower right. The collection also includes four newspaper clippings of the published strips by Central Press. These clippings bear the printed header GOLF FACTS Not Theories By ALEX MORRISON or ALEX. J. MORRISON and correspond to the drawings with strip numbers 870, 752, and 692, with one additional clipping numbered 748 featuring Revolta Example of Intelligent Player. The original drawings feature clean, graphic ink work characteristic of mid-20th-century commercial illustration.
