A Collection of Shells Wonderful World of Golf Memorabilia and Gene Sarazen Photographs
This collection of vintage golf memorabilia is associated with the television program Shells Wonderful World of Golf. The lot includes two black and white paper photographs of World Golf Hall of Fame member Gene Sarazen. One photograph depicts Sarazen in plus-fours attire on a golf course, and the other is a portrait. A yellow metal pinback badge features a red pectin shell logo and is inscribed with Shells Wonderful World of Golf, 1091, Finals June 25, 1968, and Medinah Country Club. A printed paper match schedule card for the 1962 season on the CBS network lists matches featuring golfers such as Gene Sarazen, Henry Cotton, Byron Nelson, Gene Littler, Gary Player, and Peter Thomson. The reverse of the card identifies Gene Sarazen as the program analyst. The collection also contains an assortment of yellow plastic shell-shaped ball markers with red Shell logos, one yellow plastic golf tee with a shell logo, and one red plastic golf tee with the name Shell printed three times around the top rim.
