A Collection of Vintage Augusta National Golf Club and Masters Tournament Memorabilia Including a Jack Nicklaus Inscribed Autograph
This lot consists of an assortment of vintage golf ephemera and memorabilia related to Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament. The primary item is a hand-signed Jack Nicklaus vintage 1960's autograph (based on age of stationary and style of penmanship). The inscribed autograph is written in black ink on stationery from the Phoenix Printing Company of Augusta, Georgia, and reads, To Elaine & Cynthia / Best Wishes / Jack Nicklaus. The collection also includes an official booklet titled Records of the Masters Tournament 1934-1965, featuring a green textured paper cover with the Augusta National Golf Club logo. A softbound booklet titled Golf in Augusta by O.B. Keeler is included, featuring a green and black illustrated cover depicting a golfer; the reverse of the booklet features a black and white photograph captioned, Bobby Jones Playing the Famous 16th Hole at Forest Hills. The final item is a white card from Augusta National Golf Club containing a Par 3 handicap scale on one side and a 9-hole scorecard on the reverse. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this Nicklaus autograph and their auction house letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
