A Collection of Vintage Golf Tournament Contestant Pins and Memorabilia
A collection of vintage golf related contestant pins badges and tournament memorabilia. The group features a Glen Campbell Los Angeles Open ribbon pin consisting of a large white celluloid button with the tournament logo and a suspended red fabric ribbon with goldtone lettering. Included is a green and white PGA Championship name badge with a celluloid window containing a typed paper insert for Carlie G. Tice the reverse of this insert is printed Professional Golfers Association of America. A yellow celluloid button for the Triangle Contestant Round Robin features a black logo and is stamped on the reverse with the manufacturer mark for The Whitehead and Hoag Co. Newark N.J. The collection also contains a white celluloid pin for the Preston Hollow Country Club Contestant in Dallas Texas dated October 1955. A pale green button is marked for the Women39s Western Golf Association Amateur Contestant held at The Country Club Cleveland from August 12th through 17th. Completing the lot are a matching pair of white celluloid buttons with red text for the Women39s Eastern Open Contestant and a small blue enameled metal pin dated 1965 with the initials M C H and crossed golf club graphics.
