A Collection of Vintage Ken Venturi United States Rubber Golf Balls in Original Packaging
This lot features a collection of vintage golf balls manufactured by United States Rubber, endorsed by professional golfer and 1964 U.S. Open Champion Ken Venturi. The set includes the original two-piece cardboard box consisting of a lid and base, and two internal three-ball sleeves for a total of six balls. The box lid is orange and white, featuring a color portrait of Venturi in a white flat cap, a black facsimile signature reading Ken Venturi, and printed text stating for Championship and Tournament Play and golf balls. The side panels of the box lid are marked one dozen, Ken Venturi, and golf balls, alongside a circular US logo and the printed name United States Rubber. The inner box flap repeats the signature and golf balls text, adding conform to U. S. G. A. specifications. The two included cardboard sleeves are wrapped in original cellophane. Each sleeve features a red printed banner reading Ken Venturi and side text reading for Championship and Tournament Play, United States Rubber, and Conforms to U.S.G.A. Specifications, accompanied by a circular US logo. The white dimpled golf balls each bear a black facsimile Ken Venturi signature and a red printed numeral 2. The underside of the box base is marked MADE IN U.S.A. in the lower right corner.
