A Franklin Mint Tiger Woods Eyewitness 1997 Masters Champion Sterling Silver Commemorative Medal in Display Case

A commemorative medal struck in solid sterling silver to celebrate Eldrick Tiger Woods victory at the 61st Masters Golf Tournament in 1997. The obverse of the medal features a relief portrait of Woods alongside a depiction of him in a full golf swing. The reverse is inscribed 61ST MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT 1997 CHAMPION around the rim. The center is inscribed ELDRICK 'TIGER' WOODS THE YOUNGEST EVER MASTERS CHAMPION WIDEST WINNING MARGIN OF VICTORY LOWEST SCORE IN MASTERS HISTORY. Below this is the mark .925 STERLING SILVER accompanied by a stylized lowercase f. The medal is housed in a dark green velvet-covered mount within a clear acrylic vertical display case which slots into a smoked brown translucent plastic base. The front of the display mount is printed in silver lettering THE TIGER WOODS EYEWITNESS COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL. The back of the mount is printed SOLID STERLING SILVER LIMITED EDITION MINTED BY THE FRANKLIN MINT. The lot includes the original two-piece white textured cardboard presentation box with a custom-fit styrofoam interior. This item serves as a memento from the golden age of golf history.
