A Trio of Hale Irwin Signed U.S. Open Media Credentials from Championship Years
A trio of hand-signed media credentials representing the three U.S. Open Championship victories of golfer Hale Irwin in 1974, 1979, and 1990. The first item is a press credential button from the 74th U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club in 1974. This red button features white text, the Winged Foot logo, and the number 155. It is hand-signed in blue ink across the face. The second item is a photographer credential button from the 79th U.S. Open at Inverness Club in 1979. This red button features the tournament logo and the word PHOTO. It is hand-signed in dark ink. Both buttons are constructed of metal with a pin-back closure. The third item is a rectangular white and green plastic media pass for ABC-TV from the 1990 U.S. Open at Medinah Country Club. It is numbered 00034 and includes the tournament dates of June 11-17, 1990. This pass is hand-signed in red marker across the center. The reverse of the pass includes an embossed manufacturer mark for Trammell and a phone number. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
