Antique Square Mesh Pattern Golf Ball
This antique golf ball features a square-mesh or lattice cover pattern, characterized by rows of recessed squares rather than modern circular dimples. This specific geometric design was utilized during the transition period between the gutta-percha and the wound rubber-core eras. The ball is constructed with a white-painted cover over a dark brown core material. On one pole, a printed circular logo is present, composed of a red upper arc and a blue lower arc enclosing black characters; the characters are fragmented and the text is not legible. A dark blue diamond shape is centered within the logo. One side of the ball bears hand-applied markings in black ink, including the characters J. A. and a symbol resembling a V over a K, likely a previous owner identification.
