Antique Tom Stewart St Andrews Pipe Brand Hickory Shaft Lofter Golf Club
An antique hickory shafted golf club produced by the renowned Scottish cleek maker Tom Stewart of St. Andrews. This iron club is a lofter featuring a hand forged smooth faced head typical of the late 19th to early 20th century. The back of the club head bears several distinct markings including a stamped capital L and an oval mark reading T. STEWART MAKER ST ANDREWS. Below the oval is Stewart39s iconic tobacco pipe brand symbol used to certify the quality of his hand forged irons. The head is attached to a solid hickory wood shaft. The club features a traditional wrapped leather grip with a suede like texture secured with black whipping cord at both ends. Tom Stewart is among the most celebrated clubmakers in golf history and his pipe branded clubs remain highly sought after by collectors and hickory golf enthusiasts. 34 1/2"
