Arnold Palmer & Jack Nicklaus Signed Classic Masters Yellow Flag in Center Logo
With penmanship from Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus left in the preferred location of the middle of the logo is the difficult 1995 screen printed yellow Masters flag. The rivalry in Augusta saw Nicklaus take the title from Palmer in 1963 and in 1964 Palmer get his revenge. When it was all said and done they combined for 10 Masters titles and 25 majors. What began as great amount of mutual respect between the rivals from different backgrounds transpired into a lifelong friendship. The duo would go on to give the game of golf a great show for many decades. There was a short period in which the highly-coveted Masters gift shop flags were screen printed prior to the dated embroidered look of today. This was of course prior to the golf flag collecting boom of the last 20 years or so. This flag signed by the golfing luminaries, a dynamic duo of golf stardom remains a strong candidate as the finest Nicklaus-Palmer combo flag the hobby knows when the scarcity of banner bearing ink is taken into consideration. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
