Ben Hogan Golden Anniversary Ltd Ed Iron Set Number 1017 of 1953 in Display w/ Photo & Nameplate
Here is a A Ben Hogan Golden Anniversary Commemorative Iron Set, limited edition number 1017 of 1953. The set includes five Ben Hogan Apex irons consisting of the 3, 4, 6, 8, and Equalizer (E) clubs. The club heads feature a polished chrome finish with Ben Hogan in gold-tone script, the text Golden Anniversary incised on the back, and a red and gold sunburst logo containing the number 50. The club soles are marked Apex with the club number filled in red paint. The clubs are housed in a dark mahogany-finished wood wall display case with a green felt interior. The lot includes a framed black and white photograph of Ben Hogan at the peak of his swing with a plaque reading Ben Hogan Grand Slam Champion. Accompanying provenance documentation includes a Ben Hogan Apex Irons Inspection Certificate dated July 16, 2008, warranty information, and an unfilled product registration card. The certificate lists the registered set number as H-00256253, the shaft model as Dynamic Gold IR R300, and the grips as Lamkin Starburst M58. A gold-tone commemorative metal plaque is included, engraved 1017 of 1953 on the front and hand-marked on the reverse. The club heads remain sealed in original factory protective plastic wrap.
