A gentleman by the name of Hy Peskin of LIFE magazine took the historic photo of Ben at the 18th hole of the 1950 US Open at Merion, one that possibly rivaled Hogan's golf shot itself in greatness. Captured by photographer Peskin at just the right moment, this image is one of the most well-known ones in all of golf.
