Ben Hogan's 1953 season was incredible to say the least. He won 5 of the 6 tournaments he entered, 3 of those 5 being Majors. In April 1953, Hogan won his second Masters while breaking the scoring record and shooting a 274. In June 1953, Hogan defeated Sam Snead by 6 strokes to win his 4th US Open. In July 1953, Ben was successful in winning the British Open in his only attempt. This remains today the only time these three Majors have been won in the same calendar year. This lot offers Hogan's signature on a photo of him on the green at the 1953 Masters with the crowd watching greatness. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
