Billy Casper Signed Cut w/ Record & Photo
This lot features an assortment of items commemorating professional golfer Billy Casper, centered around a tribute event held on January 5, 1971. The collection includes a 12-inch microgroove LP record titled A Tribute to Billy Casper, issued by The City of Hope and The Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce. The record label, catalog number CR 3098, lists featured speakers including Joseph C. Day, Jr., Senator Barry Goldwater, and Billy Casper. The original record sleeve features a blue finish with Billy Casper printed in gold-tone cursive script on the front. The reverse side, titled The Billy Casper Story, contains a biographical essay, blue-ink illustrations, and event details for the Century Plaza Hotel ceremony. Also included is a yellow index-style card bearing the signature of Billy Casper in black ink. The lot is completed by a black and white glossy photograph depicting three men in formal tuxedo attire, including Billy Casper on the far left and Senator Barry Goldwater in the center. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authentication comes with this lot.
