One page typed letter composed April 11, 1947 by Bobby Jones on his Atlanta based law firm (Jones,Williams & Dorsey) letterhead. In the the body of the letter to James Searle an employee at the Augusta National Golf Club, Jones discusses, "the use of the club by non-members", "interpretation without an opportunity for full discussion with Mr. Roberts" and "horse power motors which would operate the fans in the Trophy Room" in his three paragraphs. Letter remains in near mint condition with the exception of traditional tri-fold mailing creases and removed staple mark in upper left hand corner. A second staple is used to retain a copy of Mr. James Searle's unsigned reply to Mr. Jones of April 30. At the bottom of Bobby Jones one page letter in an unknown hand is one line of pencil written comments. The fountain pen signature at the close of the letter has been penned in Bobby Jones hand (9 of 10 signature strength).
