This flag was originally obtained from a Chicago Golf Club employee, please see note which will be included with lot. This historic course in Wheaton, IL just outside Chicago was designed by C.B. Macdonald in 1894. It was the site of the U.S. Open in 1897,1900,and 1911; four U.S. Amateurs and the Walker Cup in 1928 and 2005. This private course is a constant in the Top 20 rankings for United States courses. Chicago Golf Club employs the blank red flag as the standard similar to Pebble Beach, Cypress Point, and Bandon Dunes to name a few other famous courses that fly the blank flag.
