Lot features a limited deluxe edition of The Game of Golf and The Printed Word 1566-1985: A Bibliography of Golf Literature in the English Language by Richard E. Donovan and Joseph S. F. Murdoch. Published in 1988 by Castalio Press in Endicott, New York, the volume includes an introductory essay by Herbert Warren Wind. The book is a quarto-sized hardcover bound in dark green pebbled leather with five raised bands on the spine. The front cover and spine are decorated with gilt-stamped designs, including a crossed golf club and ball motif over a printing press. The volume is housed in a light green cloth-covered slipcase. A limitation page precedes the title page and reads: Three hundred and fifty copies of a deluxe edition have been produced. This is copy number 181 of three hundred fifty for sale. Directly below this statement are three original signatures in black ink: Richard E. Donovan, Jos. S. F. Murdoch, and Herbert Warren Wind. The text provides a comprehensive chronological bibliography of golf literature, divided into sections such as The Gutta Percha Era (1851-1900), and is illustrated with black and white reproductions of book covers and related imagery.
