English Pewter Turnberry The Ailsa Course Hip Flask Set
Here is a hip flask set manufactured by the English Pewter Company, celebrating the Ailsa Course at Turnberry. The set consists of a kidney-shaped hip flask, a small matching filling funnel, and a black presentation box. The flask is constructed from English pewter and features extensive engraved graphics and text on both sides. The obverse is decorated with a banner reading TURNBERRY The Ailsa Course above a detailed topographic map of the course layout. To the right of the map is a historical narrative detailing the course history from its 1906 establishment through its redesigns by Mackenzie Ross and the 1977 Open Championship. The reverse side features a similar banner above an engraved Card of the Championship Course scorecard, providing yardage and par for all 18 holes. The base of the reverse side lists The Open Championship years 1977, 1986, and 1994. The underside of the flask is stamped with a manufacturer hallmark featuring a figure with a pike, encircled by the words ENGLISH PEWTER and ENGLAND.
