Shadow boxed history is presented in this lot dedicated to the start of the Masters tradition we know today. In 1934 Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts grand idea for a spring tournament took place as the Augusta National Invitational Tournament. The players that competed in that event are pictured here. A vintage Horton Smith store model putter accents the photo well. For it was Smith that claimed the first title in 1934, apptly with his most important shot being a 20-foot birdie putt the final round on 17 which provided the one stroke margin of victory over Craig Wood and the intial champions medal.
