Harry E. Cooper's 1980 Metropolitan Golf Association Distinguished Service Award
Outstanding teacher of golf and 30-time PGA Tour winner Harry 'Light Horse' Cooper was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1992. With a golfing pedigree, his father being an apprentice of Tom Morris in St Andrews, Cooper picked up the game at an early age. He was anything but a slow player, a topic of conversation in 2025, earning the nickname 'Light Horse' for his speed and tournament demeanor. He was the Met PGA Champion in 1955, the section's professional of the year the following year and received this abstract work of art hardware in 1980 for winning the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) Distinguished Service Award. Add a trophy from Harry 'Light Horse' Cooper's case that was displayed at the original World Golf Hall of Fame and is not presented here. 6" x 6" x 8"
