Jerry Barber Signed February 18 1963 Sports Illustrated Magazine and 1994 Handwritten Letter of Provenance
This lot consists of an original issue of Sports Illustrated magazine dated February 18, 1963 (Volume 18, Number 7) and a corresponding piece of handwritten correspondence from PGA Championship winner Jerry Barber. The magazine cover features a painting of Barber by Francis Golding titled Secrets of the Short Game. The front cover is signed in black marker with two inscriptions: Best Wishes Mr. Cole and Jerry Barber (The Old Pro). The accompanying handwritten letter is dated 23 June 1994 and is signed by Jerry Barber. The letter is addressed to Mr. Cole and provides instructions for mailing the magazine to Barber for his signature, noting his travel schedule for a charity Pro-Am in Alaska and the British Senior Open in England. The magazine includes the instructional article Secrets of the Short Game by Jerry Barber beginning on page 32.
