Joyce Wethered Signed 1935 Exhibition Match at Highland G&CC Ticket #917
Widely regarded as the greatest British woman player of all time, her play and swing were greatly admired by Bobby Jones. Her victories include 5 English Amateur Championships (consecutive), and 4 British Ladies Amateur Championships. Presented here is a rare ticket from Joyce Wethered's Exhibition Match at the Highland Golf and Country Club in Indianapolis. Completing that patron's experience at the tournament was undoubtedly speaking with Joyce Wethered and obtaining her signature in pencil on the ticket itself. The lady golfers that joined her on July 16, 1935 were Elizabeth Abbott of California, Indiana Open Champion Neal McIntyre, and State Amateur Champion Johnny McGuire, Anderson. The two-way frame allows for viewing of both sides and measures 8 3/4" x 8 3/4", ticket is 2 5/8" x 2 5/8." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
