Julius Boros Signed 1963 US Open at The Country Club Official Scorecard
The second best item from the 1963 US Open in this auction is rare in its own right. In blue ballpoint pen across the front is the signature of champion Julius Boros on this official scorecard from The Country Club of Brookline that week. Unscored, this thick, vintage paper stock with blue print card has been preserved to good condition. Windy and chilly weather lead to a three way tie at 1963 US Open at The Country Club. Julius Boros, Arnold Palmer, and Jacky Cupit played an 18 hold playoff, and Boros' 70 was good enough to earn him his second US Open title. This scorecard has been preserved to very good condition. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
