This vintage iron golf club is an A.G. Spalding and Bros. Kro-Flite Sweetspot model. The club head is manufactured from mild English steel and features vertical line scoring on the face with a central circular pattern of nine punched dots. The reverse side of the club head bears several stamped markings, including the Kro-Flite brand name above a bird-in-flight logo, the cursive signature mark of A.G. Spalding and Bros., and the inscriptions Sweetspot Irons, Mild English Steel, Reg U.S. Pat Off., and Reg No 6486D. The club is constructed with a hickory wood shaft and a dark, weathered leather-wrapped grip. A black whipped cord binding is present at the hosel.
The club is in used, vintage condition. The steel head shows surface wear, light oxidation, and minor pitting consistent with age and use. The wooden hickory shaft features a small repair secured with clear adhesive tape. The leather grip is weathered and exhibits darkening and surface wear. The whipped binding at the hosel appears secure.
