Lloyd Mangrum's personal past-Champion's(1946 Open)contestant's pin for the 1951 U.S. Open held at Oakland Hills Country Club. This badge contains special blue enameled areas which designates past champions. Top of badge reversing gold lettering out of blue field contains lettering "US CHAMPION GA" while bottom of badge has block lettering in blue enamel "LLOYD MANGRUM" on gold badge.Center of this badge features the traditional raised crest of the USGA. Reverse of this near mint condition badge carries the original stick pin and clasp of issue. In 1951, Mangrum led the PGA money list. He earned the Vardon Trophy in both 1951 and 1953 with the lowest seasonal scoring average on Tour. His career has twice been recognized with the highest honor with induction into the PGA Hall of Fame in 1964 and the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1998.
