Jimmy Demaret Signed Sent Postcard - Augusta Content
On the heels of his win at the 1940 Masters win, Jimmy Demaret was invited to compete in the 1941 Argentine Open. He traveled to Buenos Aires competed in the countries National event, one of the oldest contested, and in winning set the record for lowest four round score achieved at 279. While there he send a postcard of the Buenos Aires 1927 completed landmark sculpture known as "Monument of the Spanish" to Jimmy Johnson of Rochester, Michigan telling of his travels to Argentina, and writing "Looking Forward To Seeing You again This Winter at Augusta." He closed the correspondence with a full name "9" signature. With postcard still presenting in a solid EX/MT condition after its travel across the sea. Demaret would indeed travel again to Augusta, and often, becoming the first player to win the Masters three times when he won in 1947 and again in 1950. This item offers many opportunities for the collector in its entirety, or for the beautiful fountain pen signature of Demaret which it contains.
