Byron Nelson Signed Book 'How I Played the Game'
Shown here is a Byron Nelson Signed Book "How I played the Game". After knowing all about Nelson's career, I certainly would like to know how he played the game. In 1945 Nelson had a record-breaking year, winning 18 of 35 PGA tournaments including 11 in a row, while also placing 2nd in another record 7 tournaments. During his relatively brief professional career(1935-1946), Byron Nelson had 54 career victories, including the 1939 U.S. Open, the 1937 and 1942 Masters, and the 1940 and 1945 PGA Championships. He received the 1994 Old Tom Morris Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, GCSAA's highest honor. Nelson was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 2006. One always wonders how Byron would've done had World War II not postponed many golf major tournaments during his prime playing days, we'll never know. JSA has reviewed the signature and a COA will accompany this lot.
