Bobby Jones Currier and St. Ives Centerfold 1930 Piece - Framed
In September 1930 at the height of the Bobby Jones Grand Slam craze that was gripping both sides of the Atlantic Ocean Fortune Magazine as published by Time Inc. received permission from Currier & Ives to publish their famed print of the J.W. Williamson work depicting Bobby Jones sinking the winning putt at the 1927 British Open. It appeared in Fortune as a double-page foldout measuring 23 1/4" x 15 3/4" when framed. This original 1930's print from the magazine exhibits light wear and soiling; overall excellent condition. This image in limited edition print formed numbered and signed by Bobby Jones sell for thousands of dollars as seen in our previous auctions. This lot gives the bidder the opportunity to own the same time period piece sans the autograph of Jones at a far less price point.
