Jack Nicklaus Signed 1961 The Walker Cup Program
A memorable United States team dominated the Walker Cup matches in September 1961 with a margin of victory of 11-1 behind the play of the 21-year old Jack Nicklaus, competing for a final time in the all-amateur event. Jack would turn professional in November of '61. In the 1961 matches, Nicklaus went 2-0 to close out his two career Walker Cup appearances with a perfect 4-0-0 record. The on course program for the matches held at Seattle Golf Club is offered here in NR/MT condition with strong spine, all pages cleanly intact(only flaw slight cover stain). Nicklaus, the star of the show that year at the Walker Cup as he would be on the PGA Tour for the next 25 years, has signed the cover. He has found the optimum placement for his black sharpie penning against the baby blue skies which covered the clubhouse at Seattle Golf. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides authenticity for the Nicklaus autograph in this lot.
Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on November 22nd with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
