Bobby Jones' 1960 Letter from Jack Zanger (Golf Magazine) with Jones Handwritten Notations
Over the years we have carried more than a handful Bobby Jones signed letters, with a smattering of those handwritten allowing the practiced eye to spot Jones' own handwriting (especially later in life). From a collection with numerous of Jones' own personal missives in which he received from Augusta National Golf Club Par 3 Course Architect George Cobb (in a different lot) and others came this letter from Golf Magazine's Managing Editor Jack Zanger asking for 1960 up-to-date photos of Jones for their 30th anniversary of his Grand Slam magazine issue. Even more interestingly it carries extensive ballpoint pen handwriting in which we strongly believe to be from the (sadly) ailing Bobby Jones on the verso. It looks to be a contact in which he wanted to remember the name of possibly "Ross Wilson and Prarie Dunes WDR Carey and a local office building 610 Wolcott Bldg. Hutchunson, Kansas."
