Original Bobby Jones 1958 Chicago Tribune 'This Day In Sports' Opening of Augusta National 25th Anniv. Newspaper Illustration by Lenny Hollreiser
For years illustrator Lenny Hollreiser was responsible for the popular 'This Day in Sports' Chicago Tribune feature in which he would remind readers of news of yesteryear with a depiction of the notable athlete. On January 14, 1958 Hollreiser drew Bobby Jones for the 25th anniversary of his Augusta National Golf Club opening. This original drawing includes the ink sketch contained by the surrounding blue artist's pencil box and his last name/signature in which you can see Hollreiser made an edit only viewed closeup. This was then used for print.
