BGI 1900-1901 Golf Goods Catalog
This is one of the earliest American manufacturer golf catalogs.
The Bridgeport Gun Implement Co. published this catalog in 1900.
Featured within the catalog with great illustrations are Dunn’s single piece drivers and brassies, fork spliced clubs, bulger clubs and the new BGI golf ball. There is a listing of all the BGI numbered irons with descriptions of features.
Contains many illustration photos of champion golfers including Walter Travis putting, Willie Smith (1899 US Open Champion ), Ruth Underhill and more.
Also includes period photos of famous golf course club houses and scenes, including, Aronimink, (course scene) Morris County, (clubhouse) Garden City (course scene -The Pit) and The Chicago Golf Club (clubhouse).
Incorporated after the 31 pages of golf goods is an instruction section by John Duncan Dunn with illustrations. Dunn worked for BGI at the time.
Lastly, the 1899/1900 rules of golf by the R&A and USGA are listed.
A beautiful Illustrated cover adorns this overall 96 page book.
We would consider this to be a welcome and important addition to any golf collector’s library.
